The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) has called on professionals to adopt ethical artificial intelligence practices to enhance efficiency and drive economic development, ahead of its 49th annual conference in Lagos.

Speaking at a press briefing, ICSAN Vice President Francis Olawale emphasized AI's transformative impact on governance and business. "AI is not just a tool, but a disruptive force shaping many areas, including the governance realm," he said, urging Nigeria to create a framework for its responsible use.

The conference, set for September 18-19, 2025, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, is themed "Reimagining Governance: Navigating the Artificial Intelligence Revolution for Excellence."

Olawale highlighted that the event will equip attendees with insights to embrace AI for creativity and productivity, not fear it as a job threat. It will also foster networking among professionals.

Key figures, including Seplat Energy Chairman Senator Udo Udoma and Dangote Cement Chairman Dr. Emmanuel Ikhazobor, will lead discussions, with awards for excellence in governance to be presented.
